It’s been now four days since Apple started accepting pre-orders for its iPad – the Apple’s first tablet PC. During the first six hours the pre-order was available, Apple had collected over 90, 000 orders, and continues receiving more and more every day.

Summarizing the first hands-on reviews, most of the owners are impressed by the display quality, and the way it feels in the hands. Both colors and touchscreen response effect are said to be great, as well as the speed of the CPU. Most of the Apple iPad owners have noted that the applications and the webpages load super fast.

Among the disappointments the most important one (though everyone was informed on this before) is no multitask. This is easy to understand: the price says you are buying a computer, but in fact you are getting an almost-netbook-more-than-a -reader device with a cool touchscreen and with no camera.

Apple’s iPad is definitely something new on the market, and not only devoted Apple-lovers are interested in it now, though still this device will need to find a proper niche for itself. When some are in a rush to buy iPad, the others still try to figure out what would they need it for.

Along with the news on Apple iPad pre-order, there are also talks on Apple’s battery replacement program, as this is rather important for the future iPad users. According to the iPad’s support documents, as well as the Wiki article on iPad, the device has a non replaceable Lithium-ion polymer battery, which loses a part of its capacity with time. To solve this problem Apple has a battery replacement program, that lets you get a new one for $99.

For this fee you can send your old iPad to the given address, and get a completely new device instead. Apple will not accept broken devices to participate in battery exchange program, so to make sure you are not rejected, avoid any liquid contact, disassembly, unauthorized service and modifications. Besides this, you will need to back up all the contents of your old iPad, as Apple will not transfer any of the data to your new device.

A teaser banner has appeared on SanDisc website, saying that something big is coming on 03.23.2010. The company had some releases lately, one of them was a SanDisk 64 Gigabyte SDXC card, and it is really hard to predict what will the new so proudly-announced product be. Well, now we have nothing else to do but wait, the release is scheduled on March, 23rd, and this is not that far ahead.

While those who have already pre-ordered an iPad from Apple are still waiting to get their devices, those who haven’t, get more and more similar devices to choose from, announced to be released shortly. HP Slate is not a new name now, but there are more and more facts get unveiled on this product HP is developing. So now there are some news on what the price for this device will be; there is no US pricing yet, but in Spain HP Slate is expected to cost €400, which is about $550. If this price is true, it will be a great one for a device that is expected to have a Flash support, Atom CPU, USB ports, memory card slot and a camera. Even more, the HP Slate is promised to run Windows 7, what would make it be a dream device for many if true.
It should be launched in the beginning of summer, and will make its way to Europe by September. The so soon-promised launch makes many halt on buying an iPad and wait for this one.

50, 000 orders in first two hours – is a lot, and analysts predict Apple to sell about 5 million devices by the end of the year, though Apple says they want 10 million. Whatever the amount of sales will be, it will greatly depend on the impression of first buyers, and for now it is rather controversial.

Many admire a great screen and touch response, but regret the device having no camera, what makes video calls be impossible. The CPU is highly productive, though it seems to be not that necessary with no multitask. Still, due to the high speed, everything loads very fast, you do not have to wait even a second.

Some even say Apple’s iPad is a nice tool for business: as en event planner and a presentations gadget as well. Despite all the sceptics, more and more people hurry to make a pre-order and become one of the first happy (or unhappy) owners of the IPad.

Are you one of them?

HP ProBook S gets more inside and outside
HP ProBook laptops are known for their exquisite designs, combined with high functionality. And now the HP company says a new word to make their s-series ProBook laptops become one of the most desired tools for home and office.
The new brushed aluminum finish in “bordeaux” and “caviar” colors both inside and outside the laptop has a really classy look, and should be good in terms of fingerprints, opposing to its sheen black predecessor.

To work Better and Longer
But the new design is not the only thing to admire: the new Core i3/i5/i7 processors are extremely powerful and make the new s-series HP ProBook be very productive. Together with productivity, Core i3, i5 and i7 help preserve the battery energy to make your Pro Book work even longer. An optional 9-cell battery will provide you with 10 hours of work.
New HP ProBook is offered in a wide range of sizes and configurations: you have 13.3, 14, 15.6 and 17.3-inch display sizes to choose from; the 2MP camera and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350 discrete graphics are optional features.
Among the “attractive” features we should name the Day Starter -a software that lets you view your Outlook calendar while your laptop loads.
Above all, the price can’t be said to be enormous: starting at $719 for basic 13,3-inch configuration, and reaching about $900 for a 15.6-inch ProBook 4520s with a Core i5 CPU, 500GB.
The new ProBook from HP should be available in just a few weeks, and many of us are already anxious to get our hands on it, and then admire or criticize…

Android OS, initially created to work on smartphones, but widely used on other Mobile Internet Devices (MID), is now making its way towards netbooks. We all have already had a chance to see Android work on Acer One, a dual-booting machine with 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi. This 10.1inch-display netbook has both Windows XP Home and Android.

But Acer is not the only one to experiment with Android, and we can read more and more news on various companies going for Android-based netbooks. Among these are Hivision and HP. Hivision’s PWS700A is a budget netbook, powered by a 600MHz ARM926 CPU, with a 7-inch display and 128MB of RAM.

HP, on the other side, offers a more sophisticated device. It’s HP Mini is announced to have he a 10.1″ touchscreen display, 16GB SSD, SDTM card slot, WiFi and 3G. As we know, HP has always been respected for its batteries, and this netbook is said to have a 12-hour battery life, with 10 days in standby mode. There is a lot of chat going on around this device, though a great deal of it is concentrated around the touchscreen display, not Android.

Along with the general disappointment on the Acer’s experience with Android OS, the common interest to Android netbook solutions is still enormous, and I guess there will be even more for us to see in future.

It is not a secret that shortly after releasing Windows 7 Microsoft Corporation has started making people interested in the new OS they are working on, Windows 8 (and many hope they will keep calling new systems 8, 9, 10 etc). Everyone hopes there will be a lot to see in the new Windows 8, as the Windows 7 has shown a nice direction of Microsoft’s thoughts. Though it had some lacks, Windows 7 looked like something really new, comparing to the older versions, and Windows 8 is expected to emphasize the progress.

It is known now that the new product will be released in 2012, or perhaps in 2011, and will introduce some new networking features, and will probably have a completely 128-bit platform architecture. Though, there is an opinion that Microsoft will not go for dumping the 32-bit or 64-bit compatibility, as there is no chance that all the computers will have motherboards with 128-bit support by 2011, neither by 2012 as well.
